My Bi-Monthly Opinion: Public Speaking

Rating: 9

Supposedly, 75% of human beings have "public speaking" anxiety, and in just one survey, it was found that over 1,000 people would rather die than to speak in front of a crowd.

However, I believe that the ability to speak in public is a wonderful thing. By learning to do so, one can voice his/her opinion, witness, and may be able to make a great change in the world. Although it may be nerve racking in the beginning, learning to speak in front of a crowd can be beneficial to everyone, even if you are not becoming a pastor or a teacher.

A couple tips for those who suffer from public speaking anxiety are: to adequately prepare before speaking, to relax and focus, to know that you are the "professional" on the subject that you have chosen and researched.

And really, no one is watching you anyways, so you don't have to be nervous...

...or maybe they are

  1. Definitely not surprised that it's the #1 fear in America.

Have to say, I enjoy speaking more when it appears that people are actually paying attention. lol XD
